To Reach The Green Light At The End Of The Pier
FOR AS LONG AS IT TAKES: "We are saving ourselves through the words," says Eleanor, the leading lady of a novel-in-progress. This exploration into the creative process -- which includes plenty of distractions/tangents /thoughts & rants by Eleanor, her Biographer, and selected guest artists -- will continue until Eleanor is certain her story is "right." (But we dare not jump ahead of ourselves.)
There will be the occasional typo (as Eleanor points out), and much of this is intended to be "original draft" -- what comes out of our mouths (heads) first, and then set down in that order. Not all of it will be included in the novel, but all of it is happening in real time.

Day 16: A Conversation, Part One
Eleanor: Where we started. That's what I'm asking, Do you remember where we started?
Eleanor's Biographer: When you were conceived?
E: Not like that.
EB: How?
E: Where we started? When this all became so important -- to both of us. For both of us.
EB: I don't remember, no.
E: I suppose it doesn't matter much, when -- I mean.
EB: I suppose not.
E: Sometimes, you -- me -- anybody -- I guess we want to know answers to stupid questions that really don't matter.
EB: I didn't say anything about what mattered and what didn't.
E: (Smile.) I guess not.
EB: So.
E: So. Yes.
EB: Are you thinking about how close we got, once?
E: To -- what -- being accepted?
EB: Yes.
E: Being accepted isn't everything it's made out to be. But I think we both know this much.

The uncollected musings of Pooh and Piglet, sitting on a tree stump in the Hundred Acre Woods.
By themselves, uncollected, yes. But here and now (this close to the end) we need to begin to put everything in context, so let's call it an "episode," versus a chapter, but part of a chapter perhaps, or the "Making Of."

Thanks, as always, for stopping by, Rodger!
Eleanor is very smart. Being accepted isn't all it's made out to be. You are both very well accepted by your fans like me:)
Thank you so much for your kind words at my site. It has been a rough few weeks. Somehow, I just know it will get better. Meeting Eleanor and Geoff and reading your beautiful words makes me know there is much, much good in the world.
Thank you again for your kindness. Many good wishes for a happy and peaceful new year. I'll be reading all the way to the end!
Eleanor says, "Thank you, Julie. I'm still learning about myself, but it's a good kind of learning, the best kind of learning."
